Realm Rift Draft Format Rules

General Rules

  1. Drafting Overview:
  • Players select cards from booster packs passed around in a “pod” (the group of players drafting together). The goal is to build a cohesive Palette from the cards you draft and compete in games over a series of rounds using this palette.
  1. Palette Construction:
  • Casual Format: Build a 20-card Palette with no restrictions on Realm mixing, card duplicates or rarity.
  • Competitive Format: Build a 30-card Palette with the same flexibility as the casual format.
  • Each Palette can include a sideboard (4 cards for Casual, 6 cards for Competitive) to swap in between games.
  1. Realmless Cards:
  • All drafted cards are considered "Realmless" in addition to their original Realm, meaning players can freely mix cards from different Realms without restrictions.
  1. Booster Pack Structure:
  • Each 6-card booster pack includes:
      - 1 Legendary or Rare card
      - 2 Uncommon cards
      - 2 Common cards
  • 1 slot for an alternate art/special edition card or an additional Common/Uncommon.
  1. Pod Sizes:
  • Casual Format: Pods of 6 players.
  • Competitive Format: Pods of 8 players.

Drafting Instructions

  • This continues until all cards in the pack are drafted.
  • Alternate passing direction (left-right-left-right) with subsequent packs.
