(CONTINUED) CHAPTER 1 CARD UPDATES - FULL LIST

Following on from our previous article where I summarised the Chapter 1 card updates , I mentioned that the full updates for the cards would be released on the Card Database early this week. However due to unforeseen barriers, it will now have to be updated next week instead. We apologise for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience. Although we have discussed the individual card changes, many of you were left wanting to know exactly which cards had also had slight ability updates (not changing their gameplay, but clearing up bits). As the database is not yet ready, and I cannot give an exact eta for that, we thought it was best to give you keen community members a breakdown of all the card changes.

What I will not cover in this article are the changes that only involve:
  • Shard colour order changes
  • Object & Action Subtypes being added
  • Cards where ‘Object of Power’ have changed to just ‘Object’
  • Spelling/grammar mistakes
Reasons being that although there are a lot of cards that have been changed with the above changes, these changes are mostly cosmetic and do not effect gameplay. Although the Subtypes being added is gameplay changing, it will not effect gameplay until the expansion cards come out, by which point the cards will be on the Database and will easily be able to be seen there. However, here are the rest of the changes listed out for you. If you have any questions let us know.

CURSE OF CURDLE HILL

  • Magus Elite Detective - Resolve effect added: ‘+X’ / Ability changed to: ‘X = The number of other Magus Elite Characters on your Canvas’ / (Changed to be consistent with other resolve effects)
  • Delilah Crocket - Ability changed to: ‘ACTION: Give another Character PROTECTION from [AchromShard]. / (Changed to add the word ‘ACTION’ to make it clear this is a one use effect, as it always was)
  • Magus Elite Enforcer - Ability changed to: ‘When Magus Elite Enforcer attacks, increase their Strength by 1 for the duration of this turn.’ / (Changed to strength increase rather than ‘Shards’ as this was how the card was originally intended to be played.)
  • Sorcerer Pifarius - Resolve effect added: ‘±X’ / Ability changed to: ‘X = The number of Occultist Characters on your Canvas’ / (Changed to be consistent with other resolve effects)
  • Detective Vraxea - Ability changed to: ‘Once per turn, when another one of your Characters is Erased, you may return them to your hand’ / (Added the word ‘may’ to make it clear that this ability is optional in case for some reason you wanted your Character to go to your Dregs)
  • Chief Detective Cronas - Resolve effect added: ‘+3’ / Ability changed to: ‘[+3] For each other Magus Elite on your Canvas’ / (Changed to be consistent with other resolve effects)
  • Delilah’s Cauldron - Ability changed to: ‘Once per turn, you must draw a card. If you draw an Action, place it under Delilah’s Cauldron and you may play it for free during any player’s turn. If the card isn’t an Action, place it at the bottom of your Palette.’ / (Added the word ‘must’ to clarify that this ability is something you must do every turn)
  • Cara’s Chroma Cure - Ability changed to: ‘[+1] for each Character on your Canvas. Erase all Characters with ~A~. All Characters with any ~R~, ~Y~, ~M~, ~G~, ~C~, ~B~. get PROTECTION from ~A~ until your next turn.’ / (Added the word ‘all’ to make it clear that ALL characters with Chroma get PROTECTION from any Achrom, not just your own Characters.)
  • Curdle Cave - Resolve effect added: ‘+X’ / Ability changed to: ‘X = The number of Characters on your Canvas’ / (Changed to be consistent with other resolve effects)
  • Silent Thicket - Ability changed to: ‘ACTION: RESTRAIN a Character in Silent Thicket.’ / (Changed to be clear that this card is not ‘Claim and restrain’ which was a mistake on the original card. This was always the intended gameplay)
  • Murky Manor - Ability changed to: ‘ACTION: REVEAL a card with ~A~ and immediately Deploy it for free.’ / (Changed from ‘FIND’ to make this card still strong, but not as consistent. This card had the most comments from the community about being too strong and consistent at being able to find and play your legendary for free. We don’t like changing cards, but we feel changing the ability to ‘Reveal’ makes it still strong, but now less consistent, and more tactical.
  • Von Ruthro House - Ability changed to: ‘Once during your turn, you may DIG for a Character with any ~R~, ~Y~, ~M~, ~G~, ~C~, ~B~ and TRADE them.’ / (Changed the wording to ‘Once during your turn’ to be clear that this is only during your turn, and not once per player turn)

SIEGE OF DRACO TEMPLE

  • Draco Graveyard - Ability changed to: ‘Once during your turn, you may discard 2 cards and DIG 1.’ / (Changed the wording to ‘Once during your turn’ to be clear that this is only during your turn, and not once per player turn)
  • Draco Planum Library - Ability changed to: ‘Once during your turn, you may RESEARCH 1.’ / (Added the word ‘may’ to be clear that you do not have to use this ability every turn if you do not wish to)
  • Monastery Nest - Changed to ‘Heroic Location’ / (This means you cannot have 2 out on your Canvas at the same time (including copies). This change was made as it was too strong to have 2 of these out, or 3 if copied).
  • Vast Volitarus - Changed to ‘Heroic Location’ / (This means you cannot have 2 out on your Canvas at the same time (including copies). This change was made as it was too strong to have 2 of these out, or 3 if copied).
  • Achrom Balenium - Changed to ‘Heroic Location’ / (This means you cannot have 2 out on your Canvas at the same time (including copies). This change was made as it was too strong to have 2 of these out, or 3 if copied).
  • Chroma Storehouse - Changed to ‘Heroic Location’ / (This means you cannot have 2 out on your Canvas at the same time (including copies). This change was made as it was too strong to have 2 of these out, or 3 if copied).
  • Darnacusk - Resolve effect added: ‘+X’ / Ability changed to: ‘X = The number of Dragons on your Canvas. ACTION: Draw 3 cards’ / (Changed to be consistent with other resolve effects)
  • Tenebris - Ability changed to: ‘ACTION: You may Erase 1 Location or Character.’ / (Added the word ‘may’ to clarify that you do not have to Erase a Location or Character if it would not benefit you)
  • Ignis - Ability changed to: ‘When Ignis attacks, you may Erase a Character or Location from the same Canvas with a Shard Value of 3 or less.’ / (Added the word ‘may’ to clarify that you do not have to Erase a Location or Character if it would not benefit you)
  • Impundulu - Ability changed to: ‘While on your Canvas, Impundulu gives other Characters on your Canvas PROTECTION from ~Achrom~.’ / (Changed the wording to ‘While on your Canvas’ to clarify that if Impundulu is Erased, the PROTECTON does not remain)
  • Umbra Igneus - Ability changed to: ‘Whenever Umbra Igneus attacks, you may Erase a Location.’ / (Added the word ‘may’ to clarify that you do not have to Erase a Location if it would not benefit you)
  • Mirror Sanctum - Ability changed to: ‘Deploy as a copy of another Location, gaining all of its Actions and abilities.’ / (Changed to add the word ‘Actions’ to make it clear that when you deploy Mirror Sanctum, it DOES get any Actions of the Location it is copying)
  • Impius Drake - Ability changed to: ‘ACTION: Choose a player. They must Erase a card from their Canvas.’ / (Changed to add the words ‘from their Canvas’ to make it clear that you are not giving another player a chance to Erase someone elses card. They must erase one of their own cards)
  • Breath of Fire - Ability changed to: ‘Erase a Character and/or a Location.’ / (Added the ‘and/or’ to clarify you can choose to only Erase 1 card rather than 2 if that would benefit yourself)

FALL OF FLUTTERBY

  • Achrom Corruptor - Ability changed to: ‘When attached Character attacks, you may Erase a Character or Location.’ / (Added the word ‘may’ to clarify that you do not need to Erase a Character or Location if it would not benefit you)
  • Prismsprayer - Ability changed to: ‘When this card is Erased, you may immediately Deploy it for free and attach it to another Character on any Canvas.’ / (Changed the wording to ‘you may immediately Deploy it for free’ to clarify that when it does get moved to another Character, it DOES re-heal back to full shard health, as it is being re-deployed, not just moved)
  • Double Trouble - Ability changed to: ‘Once Deployed, this card becomes a copy of a Character on any Canvas, gaining all of its abilities and Strength.’ / (Changed the wording to include that you also gain the Strength. As there was confusion as to whether the copy would also have 6 strength if it copied a Darnacusk as an example)
  • Guardians of Flutterby Falls - Ability changed to: ‘SPLAT 4. Once per turn, you may use this Location to DEFEND with a Strength of 6.’ / (Added the word ‘may’ to clarify that you do not have to DEFEND with this card if you do not want to)

WARRIORS OF WISHWELL

  • Chieftess Astrid of Lacringi - Resolve effect added: ‘+2’ / Ability changed to: ‘[+2] for each other Hulder Troll on your Canvas.’ / (Changed to be consistent with other resolve effects)
  • Gisle - Resolve effect added: ‘+4’ / Ability changed to: ‘If you have 3 or more Trolls on your Canvas: Gisle cannot be Erased, also, during your Resolve step, draw a card.’ / (Moved the +4 to her natural resolve effect, rather than being part of her ability. This means she can now be more useful when you are not able to keep 3 Trolls out)
  • Solveig - Resolve effect added: ‘±2’ / Ability changed to: ‘If you have 3 or more Trolls on your Canvas: Solveig cannot be Erased, also, during your Resolve step, draw a card.’ / (Moved the ±2 to his natural resolve effect, rather than being part of her ability. This means he can now be more useful when you are not able to keep 3 Trolls out)
  • Torstein The Mighty - Resolve effect added: ‘+X’ / Ability changed to: ‘X = Each Character and Location on your Canvas. If you have 3 or more Characters on your Canvas, Torstein The Mighty cannot be Erased.’ / (Changed to be consistent with other resolve effects)
  • Torstein’s Guantlet - Resolve effect added: ‘+X’ / Ability changed to: ‘X = Each Character and Location on your Canvas. Torstein's Gauntlet can only be Erased if attached Character is Erased.’ / (Changed to be consistent with other resolve effects)
  • Lacringi Way - Ability changed to: ‘Erase 1 Character with any ~A~ and/or 1 Location with any ~A~ from any Canvas.’ / (Added the ‘and/or’ to clarify that you do not have to Erase both cards if it would not be beneficial to you)
  • Hulder Tail Whip - Ability changed to: ‘Erase a Character and/or a Location from any Canvas. Gain the Shards from one of them.’ / (Added the ‘and/or’ to clarify that you do not have to Erase both cards if it would not be beneficial to you)
  • Fishing Dock - Ability changed to: ‘Once during your turn, you must look at the top 2 cards of your Palette. TRADE 1 of them. Put the other at the bottom of your Palette.’ / (Changed to clarify it is ‘Once during YOUR turn’ not every players turn. Also added the word ‘must’ to clarify that it must be completed on your turn, you cannot skip this ability)
  • Brisgavi Falls - Changed to ‘Heroic Location’ / Ability changed to: ‘ ACTION: DIG for a Character. Once during your turn, you may Erase a Location with a Shard Value of up to X. (X = The number of Samr Trolls on your Canvas.)’ / (This means you cannot have 2 out on your Canvas at the same time (including copies). This change was made as it was too strong to have 2 of these out, or 3 if copied. Also, added the word ‘may’ in the ability to clarify you do not need to do this every turn if it would not benefit you)
  • Wishwell Market Stall - Changed to ‘Heroic Location’ / (This means you cannot have 2 out on your Canvas at the same time (including copies). This change was made as it was too strong to have 2 of these out, or 3 if copied)
  • Lacringi Gardens - Changed to ‘Heroic Location’ / (This means you cannot have 2 out on your Canvas at the same time (including copies). This change was made as it was too strong to have 2 of these out, or 3 if copied)
  • Norso Totem - Changed to ‘Heroic Location’ / (This means you cannot have 2 out on your Canvas at the same time (including copies.) This change was made as it was too strong to have 2 of these out, or 3 if copied)
